Can. 1707 - § 1Quoties coniugis mors authentico documento ecclesiastico vel civili 
comprobari nequit, alter coniux a vinculo matrimonii solutus non habeatur, nisi post 
declarationem de morte praesumpta ab Episcopo dioecesano prolatam
§ 2Declarationem, de qua in § 1, Episcopus dioecesanus tantummodo proferre valet si, 
peractis opportunis investigationibus, ex testium depositionibus, ex fama aut ex indiciis 
moralem certitudinem de coniugis obitu obtinueritSola coniugis absentia, quamvis diuturna, 
non sufficit
