Furthermore many national studies and single initiative complement the research on injury statistics.

Experts at EuroSafe (the European Association for Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion) are the first contact point for European injury analyses. http://www.eurosafe.eu.com/

The EuroCost projects provide figures for the medical costs of injuries.

The delivery of reliable indicators with the existing data sources is possible, but is not exhaustive. In particular data on disabilities/sick leaves /indirect and human costs is lacking and requires further research.

Due to the different definitions used in the survey and statistics and the existence of several sources the comparison and summarisation of injury figures is rather difficult.
