Consecrated in Christ

12. God consecrated Jesus of Nazareth by the anointing of the Spirit1 and sent Him out to give life to the world2. By His Pascal Mystery, He consecrates the whole of humanity to the Father, thus establishing the New Covenant.

Our commitment to this covenant is established by Baptism: we are drawn into Christ's death in order that we may share in His Resurrection3. We walk at His side and labour to build up the Kingdom of God.

The imitation of Christ4 is the supreme law of our baptismal consecration, making possible our coming to fullness in the Trinity's love. This sharing in the mystery of Jesus leads us on towards the perfection of our being, and makes our whole life a love-worship of God.
