(The Gospel is read)

(at the end of the reading the Deacon says:)

 

S. Praise to you, O Christ.

(Afterwards at high Mass, the deacon takes the book to the cleebrant who kisses it, saying:)

P. May the words of the gospel wipe away our sins.
