 1 II   |         chaste word: "Behold the handmaid of the Lord"? Because the
 2 III  |       Now the soul of man is the handmaid who in this world follows
 3 III  |       Psalm: "As the eyes of the handmaid ,are on the hands of her
 4 III  |          her mistress," etc. The handmaid of the Lady Mary is every
 5 III  |         Church. The eyes of this handmaid should be ever on the hands
 6 IV   |       And Mary said, 'Behold the handmaid of the Lord' " (I, 38.)
 7 IV   |    humility, saying: "Behold the handmaid of the Lord." Well, therefore,
 8 IV   | answering the Angel, 'Behold the handmaid of the Lord.' This is an

16 X    |          Most High Goodness, the Handmaid of the Most High Trinity.~
17 X    |    honey-sweet word: "Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it done
18 X    |       the Lord whose most devout handmaid she is, as she herself testifies: "
19 X    |   herself testifies: "Behold the handmaid of the Lord." Mary is the
20 X    |        of the Lord." Mary is the handmaid of God the Father, of God
21 X    |        What wonder if she is the handmaid of that Lord, when her son
22 X    |      servant, and the son of thy handmaid." O what a good handmaid,

24 X    |       and what a good son of the handmaid ! Alas, how many are bad
25 X    |        We read in Genesis of the handmaid of Sara that, seeing that
26 X    |    mistress. Therefore, the evil handmaid Agar is puffed up by her
27 X    |          fecundity; but the good handmaid Mary is made fecund by her
28 X    |         her humility. That proud handmaid despised her mistress; the
