Pref | might render, in return, honor and thanks to~the Gospel,
Pref2| it holy.] ~4. Thou shalt honor thy father and mother [that
1 | power, favor friendship, and honor has also a god, but not~
1 | voluntary~fasting to the honor of St. Apollonia]; if he
1 | the meaning of the true honor and worship of God,~which
1 | neither money, favor, nor~honor, and, besides, can scarcely
1 | Mammon have power, favor, honor, possessions, and~every
1 | concern money,~possessions, honor, whether it be publicly
1 | godliness, and the shame like honor. This is the common course
1 | constantly urged and incited to~honor God's name, and to have
1 | notice: For that is the true~honor of His Name, to look to
1 | heart by faith gives God the~honor due Him, and afterwards
1 | playfully~in the fear and honor of God, so that the First
1 | greatest is: ~Thou shalt honor thy father and thy mother. ~
1 | love our parents, but to honor them. For with respect to~
1 | is a far higher thing to honor than to love one,~inasmuch
1 | For one whom we are to honor from the heart we must truly
1 | to be deprived of their honor because~of their conduct
1 | therefore, first, what is the honor towards parents required
1 | that we show them such honor also~by works, that is,
1 | better than to~render all honor and obedience to my parents,
1 | no reverence nor sense of honor, do~nothing except as they
1 | we rejoice to~show them honor and obedience, because we
1 | without compulsion do all~honor to his parents, and bear
1 | least do not esteem and honor them as~such. ~Now, what
1 | and~mistresses but also to honor them as their own fathers
1 | name~and title with all honor as their highest dignity,
1 | dignity, it is our duty to~honor them and to esteem them
1 | does all that pertains to honor, knows that he is pleasing~
1 | they are~entitled to their honor, even above all others.
1 | esteem them worthy of double honor who minister to their souls,
1 | and whatever they do to honor them, shall be richly~recompensed
1 | toward those to whom we owe honor, so that we~would raise
1 | does He assign to them this honor, that is, power and~authority
1 | all, to train them to the honor and praise of God. Therefore
1 | maintain our neighbor's honor. For whenever you~omit this
1 | the Fourth Commandment: Honor thy father and thy~mother;
1 | Therefore He also wishes us to honor it, and to maintain and
1 | nourish~and train them to the honor of God. ~Therefore God has
1 | married life be restored to honor, and that~there might be
1 | husband and wife~to love and honor one another. Here you have
1 | another treasure, namely, honor and good report [the illustrious~
1 | in his body, property, or honor. ~Now, this appears as if
1 | person's money, possession, honor, or~power. This is one part
1 | to deprive any~one of his honor or good name unless it be
1 | easily extricate himself. For honor and a good name are easily
1 | neighbor would retain his honor. As Christ also says in
1 | we bestow more abundant honor;~and our uncomely parts
1 | help him to promote his honor to~the best of our ability,
1 | though you could do so with~honor in the eyes of the world,
1 | acquire their possessions with~honor and right. ~Now, this occurs
1 | and esteem it holy, and honor it. ~Thus continuing through
1 | Commandment, to wit, that we honor father and mother, masters,
1 | his body, wife, property, honor,~or rights, as all these
2 | life, riches, power,~and honor, etc., of ourselves, so
2 | such good things to the honor and praise of~God. ~Thus
3 | this name have its proper honor, be esteemed holy and~sublime
3 | may not receive~shame, but honor and praise from us. ~Now
3 | employed~to the praise and honor of God. For whoever employs
3 | to praise, magnify, and honor both in word and~deed. ~
3 | dear to Him than that His honor and praise is exalted above
3 | Petition concerning the honor and name of God~that He
3 | God, He also claims the honor of~giving much more and
3 | all that~pertains to the honor of God and to our salvation,
3 | upon earth --~possessions, honor. house and estate, wife
3 | they are also worthy of all honor, that we give to them for
3 | with superfluous finery,~honor, fame, and power, where
3 | we pray for: the name or honor of God, God's~kingdom and
4 | for God Himself stakes His~honor His power and might on it.
4 | the commandment is added:~Honor thy father and thy mother,
4 | me how and why one must honor this flesh and blood. ~Thus,
4 | much more even, you must honor Baptism and esteem it~glorious
4 | God is to be~held in all honor, which alone would be sufficient,
4 | thing like the commandment, Honor thy father and thy~mother,
