1 Pref2| Christians nor be admitted to any Sacrament, just as a~mechanic who
2 Pref2| also, concerning the other~Sacrament in short, simple words,
3 Pref2| Cor.~11, 23 f.].~OF THE SACRAMENT ~Our Lord Jesus Christ,
4 4 | derives its~essence as a Sacrament, as St. Augustine also taught:
5 4 | substance, it becomes a Sacrament, that is, a holy~and divine
6 4 | God has ordained, it is a Sacrament, and is called~Christ-baptism.
7 4 | and~dignity of the holy Sacrament. ~In the second place, since
8 4 | to know~concerning this Sacrament especially that the ordinance
9 5 | Part Fifth.] OF THE SACRAMENT OF THE ALTAR. ~In the same
10 5 | also concerning the other Sacrament, namely, these three points:~
11 5 | Christian and go to the~Sacrament should know. For it is not
12 5 | and blasphemers of this Sacrament, but to learn first (as
13 5 | also does this venerable Sacrament remain undisturbed, so that~
14 5 | we do. ~Now, what is the Sacrament of the Altar! ~Answer: It
15 5 | so here also we say the Sacrament is bread and~wine, but not
16 5 | makes and distinguishes this Sacrament, so~that it is not mere
17 5 | the element it becomes a~Sacrament. This saying of St. Augustine
18 5 | better. The Word must make a~Sacrament of the element, else it
19 5 | minister at, and dispense, the Sacrament, and~whatever other questions
20 5 | takes or distributes the Sacrament, he~receives the true Sacrament,
21 5 | Sacrament, he~receives the true Sacrament, that is, the true body
22 5 | Word by which it became a Sacrament and was instituted does
23 5 | relates to the essence of~this Sacrament. Now examine further the
24 5 | account of which really the Sacrament was instituted; which is
25 5 | this reason we go to the~Sacrament because there we receive
26 5 | forgiveness of sins in the Sacrament. For although the~work is
27 5 | the Word embodied in this~Sacrament and presented to us. Why,
28 5 | treasure~to be torn from the Sacrament when they must confess that
29 5 | that these words in the Sacrament are of no use, as little
30 5 | Word of God, apart from the Sacrament, is~of no use? ~Thus we
31 5 | Thus we have the entire Sacrament, both as to what it is in
32 5 | preparation for receiving this~Sacrament worthily. For since this
33 5 | instruction respecting this Sacrament; for what is~further to
34 5 | understanding and doctrine of~the Sacrament, there is indeed need of
35 5 | to receive this venerable Sacrament~often. For we see that men
36 5 | even longer without the~Sacrament, as though they were such
37 5 | finally despise both the~Sacrament and the Word of God. ~Now,
38 5 | and withdraw from, the Sacrament so long a time are not to
39 5 | Christians and esteem the Sacrament~precious and holy will urge
40 5 | enjoined to partake of~this Sacrament. Therefore, whoever would
41 5 | that He wishes to have the Sacrament free, not~limited to special
42 5 | thus withdraw~from this Sacrament, he will daily become more
43 5 | ought not stay away from the Sacrament, lest he may deprive himself
44 5 | highest art to know~that our Sacrament does not depend upon our
45 5 | silent and not institute a~Sacrament. Therefore consider, and
46 5 | without~partaking of the Sacrament] that we grow quite cold
47 5 | We must never regard the~Sacrament as something injurious from
48 5 | in them. For here in the Sacrament~you are to receive from
49 5 | then go joyfully to this Sacrament~and obtain refreshment,
50 5 | that you might come to the~Sacrament pure and worthy, you must
51 5 | hunger and thirst for the Sacrament? Answer: For those~who are
52 5 | reason have you to go to the Sacrament to seek help and a~remedy. ~
53 5 | would be glad to come to the~Sacrament as often as possible. But
54 5 | much more in need of the Sacrament against the misery which~
55 5 | the more hungry for the Sacrament, especially~since the devil
56 5 | enjoy this~communion of the Sacrament, in order that they may
