It is a source of joy and comfort to note that "the laity are more and more engaged in the mission of the Church in Africa and Madagascar", thanks especially "to the dynamism of Catholic Action movements, apostolic associations and new spiritual movements".200 The Synod Fathers requested that this thrust be pursued and developed among all the laity: adults, youth and children.
