9 1 | hundred pupils. It was to this Bodhisattva Varaprabha that the Lord,

11 1 | assembly: O monks, this Bodhisattva Srîgarbha here shall immediately
12 1 | was kept in memory by the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Varaprabha; during
13 1 | intermediate kalpas did the Bodhisattva Varaprabha keep and reveal
14 1 | were pupils to that very Bodhisattva Varaprabha. They were by
15 1 | eight pupils there was one Bodhisattva who attached an extreme
16 1 | days, at that time, was the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Varaprabha, preacher

23 3 | to the mighty will of the Bodhisattva thou, Sâriputra, hast no

27 3 | complete Nirvâna. 'This Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Dhritiparipûrna,
28 7 | Mahasattvas, in the quality of Bodhisattva, had been roused to enlightenment,

33 10| Bodhisattvas Mahâsattvas. Any Bodhisattva, Bhaishagyarâga, who is
34 10| deemed a conceited man.~Any Bodhisattva Mahâsattva, Bhaishagyarâga,
35 10| four classes of hearers. A Bodhisattva ought to propound this Dharmaparyâya
36 11| that position. Then the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Mahâpratibhâna,
37 11| spake to Mahapratibhâna, the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva, as follows:
38 11| following the course of a Bodhisattva, I have not arrived at supreme,
39 11| said Mahâpratibhâna, the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva, to the Lord:
40 11| Whereon the Lord spake to the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Mahâpratibhâna
41 11| brought hither.~Thereupon the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva MahApratibhâna
42 11| Tathâgata.~At that moment a Bodhisattva of the name of Pragñâkûta,
43 11| the Tathâgata, said to the Bodhisattva Pragñâkûta: Wait a while,
44 11| have a discussion with my Bodhisattva Mañgusrî, the prince royal,
45 11| Tathâgata, went up to the Bodhisattva Pragñâkûta and, after making
46 11| himself at some distance. The Bodhisattva Pragñâkûta then addressed
47 11| prince royal, said to the Bodhisattva Pragñtakûta: Young man of
48 11| the result. Whereupon the Bodhisattva Pragñâkûta questioned Mañgusrî,
49 11| perfect enlightenment. The Bodhisattva Praggakûta said: I have
50 11| enlightenment, in the state of a Bodhisattva, performed innumerable good
51 11| Kakravartin; 5. the rank of a Bodhisattva incapable of sliding back .~
52 11| the Nâga-king, said to the Bodhisattva Pragñâkûta and the senior
53 11| manifested herself as a Bodhisattva, who immediately went to
54 11| enlightenment.~Then the Bodhisattva Pragñâkûta and the senior
55 12| EXERTION.~Thereafter the Bodhisattva Bhaishagyarâga and the Bodhisattva
56 12| Bodhisattva Bhaishagyarâga and the Bodhisattva Mahâpratibhâna, with a retinue
57 12| of kotis of Buddhas, be a Bodhisattva and preacher of the law.
58 12| completed the course of a Bodhisattva, thou shalt become, under
59 12| kotis of Buddhas become a Bodhisattva and preacher of the law,
60 12| completing the course of a Bodhisattva thou shalt become a Tathâgata,
61 13| Mañgusrî, the prince royal: A Bodhisattva Mahâsattva, Mañgusrî, he
62 13| things. In which things? The Bodhisattva Mahâsattva, Mañgusrî, must
63 13| And how, Mañgusrî, is a Bodhisattva Mahâsattva firm in his conduct
64 13| proper sphere? When the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva, Mañgusrî, is
65 13| called the conduct of a Bodhisattva Mahâsattva. And what is
66 13| is the proper sphere of a Bodhisattva Mahâsattva, Mañgusrî? When
67 13| Mahâsattva, Mañgusrî? When the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, Mañgusrî, does
68 13| is the proper sphere of a Bodhisattva Mahâsattva.~Again, Mañgusrî,
69 13| Mahâsattva.~Again, Mañgusrî, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva does not take
70 13| first proper sphere of a Bodhisattva Mahasattva.~Further, Mañgusrî,
71 13| Mahasattva.~Further, Mañgusrî, a Bodhisattva Mahâsattva looks upon all
72 13| way then, Mañgusrî, the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva constantly views
73 13| second proper sphere of a Bodhisattva Mahâsattva.~And in order
74 13| following stanzas :~1. The Bodhisattva who, undaunted and unabashed,
75 13| the proper conduct of a Bodhisattva.~7. But when one comes to
76 13| wrongly assumed.~21. Let (the Bodhisattva) be concentrated in mind,
77 13| Further, Mañgusrî, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who, after the
78 13| Æons.~Again, Mañgusrî, the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva who lives after
79 13| true law is in decay, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who keeps this
80 13| third quality with which a Bodhisattva Mahâsattva is endowed who
81 13| Further, Mañgusrî, the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva, living at the
82 13| fourth quality, Mañgusrî, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, who is to expound
83 14| forming the train of one Bodhisattva; and of such Bodhisattvas
84 14| celebrated them with various Bodhisattva hymns, they went and kept
85 14| the Tathâgatas by various Bodhisattva hymns, fifty intermediate
86 14| of Bodhisattvas, viz. the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva called Visishtakâritra (
87 14| of eminent conduct), the Bodhisattva Mahasattva called Anantakâritra (
88 14| of endless conduct), the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva called Visuddhakâritra (
89 14| correct conduct), and the Bodhisattva Mahasattva called Supratishthitakâritra (
90 14| arose in the mind of the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Maitreya and
91 14| flocked hither?~Then the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Maitreya, feeling
92 14| train of (each) glorious Bodhisattva is equal to the sands of
93 14| men of good family; this Bodhisattva Mahâsattva here, called
94 14| Thereupon the Lord addressed the Bodhisattva Maitreya: Well done, Agita,
95 14| stanzas the Lord addressed the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya: I announce
96 14| brought to maturity.~The Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Maitreya and
97 14| enlightenment? Then the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Maitreya asked
98 14| them to be fit for this Bodhisattva position. It is I who have
99 14| doubt.~On that occasion the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya addressed
100 15| Bodhisattvas with Maitreya, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva at their head,
101 15| having thus spoken, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya and
102 16| Then the Lord addressed the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Maitreya: While
103 16| And on that occasion the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Maitreya uttered
104 16| Thereupon the Lord addressed the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Maitreya: Those

106 17| ACCEPTANCE.~Thereupon the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Maitreya said
107 17| And on that occasion the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Maitreya uttered
108 17| And the Lord said to the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Maitreya: If
109 17| incalculable merit? Whereupon the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Maitreya said
110 17| said, the Lord spoke to the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Maitreya as follows:
111 18| Lord then addressed the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Satatasamitâbhiyukta (
112 18| organ of hearing that the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva acquires; yet
113 18| them severally.~18. The Bodhisattva who preaches this Stara
114 18| Satatasamitâbhiyukta, the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva who keeps, proclaims,
115 18| is by the odour that the Bodhisattva discovers sundry jewels
116 18| jewels for women.~27. That Bodhisattva likewise knows by the odour
117 18| quiet persons.~37. That Bodhisattva by the scent smells treasures
118 18| listening, or walking.~43. That Bodhisattva tracks by the scent the
119 18| the organ of smell of the Bodhisattva who keeps this Sûtra.~46.
120 18| keeps this Sûtra.~46. The Bodhisattva also recognises all monks
121 18| and such a place.~48. The Bodhisattva knows by the odour whether
122 18| attending disciples, the Bodhisattva by the odour recognises
123 18| 50. Staying on earth, the Bodhisattva also perceives those beings

127 19| monks, there was a monk, a Bodhisattva Mahâsattva, called Sadâparibhûta.

145 20| Then the Lord addressed the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Visishtakâritra,
146 21| XXI. SPELLS.~Thereupon the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Bhaishagyarâga

185 22| good family striving in the Bodhisattva vehicle towards the goal

194 23| Mahâsattva Gadgadasvara. Then the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Gadgadasvara
195 23| Tathâgata, &c., said to the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Gadgadasvara:

227 23| law, under the shape of a Bodhisattva to such as must be converted

230 23| possessed of.~Thereafter the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Padmasrî said

238 23| and impetuosity, and the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Pradânasûra;

241 24| AVALOKITESVARA.~Thereafter the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Akshayamati rose

258 24| man of good family, is the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Avalokitesvara.

260 24| family, is the power of the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Avalokitesvara.~
261 24| Avalokitesvara.~Those who adore the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva Avalokitesvara
