501 14| enlightenment. He has questioned the Lord Sâkyamuni, the Tathâgata, &

503 14| may hear.~Thereupon the Lord addressed the Bodhisattva

508 14| Mahâsattva Maitreya asked the Lord: How then, O Lord, has the

512 14| Bodhisattvas, so innumerable, O Lord, so countless, having long

514 14| strength, and power. And the Lord says: From the very beginning
515 14| perfect enlightenment. But, O Lord, how can we have faith in
516 14| not trust it. Hence, O Lord, they will design acts tending
517 14| of the law. Therefore, O Lord, deign to explain us this
518 14| Mahasattva Maitreya addressed the Lord with the following stanzas:~
519 14| That is a short time ago, O Lord of the world.~45. And now
520 14| difficult to believe, O Lord of the world, that they
521 14| 50. In the same manner, O Lord, we are unable to conceive
522 14| After hearing it from the Lord's own mouth we shall never
523 14| on this head. Grant us, O Lord, a truthful account how
524 15| TATHÂGATA.~Thereupon the Lord addressed the entire host

571 19| counterfeit of the true law of the Lord Bhîshmagargitasvararâga,
572 19| drawing near. It was the Lord Bhîshmagargitasvararâga,
573 19| who under the rule of that Lord Bhishmagargitasvararâga,
574 19| Mahâsthâmaprâpta, to whom under that Lord the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva
575 19| And on that occasion the Lord uttered the following stanzas:~
576 20| joined hands towards the Lord, and said unto him: We,
577 20| and said unto him: We, O Lord, will, after the complete
578 20| all Buddha-fields of the Lord, wherever (or whenever)

588 20| preached the law. Just as the Lord Sâkyamuni, the Tathâgata, &

596 20| in order to worship the Lord Sâkyamuni, the Tathâgata,
597 20| other worlds.~Thereupon the Lord addressed the Bodhisattvas

676 23| us see that Bodhisattva, Lord; see how the colour, outward

678 23| this Saha-world.~Then the Lord Sâkyamuni, the Tathâgata, &

680 23| extinct: Produce such a token, Lord, that the Bodhisattva Mahâsattva

685 23| whereafter he said to the Lord: The Lord Kamaladalavimalanakshatrarâgasankusumitâbhigña,

687 23| c., inquires after the Lord's health, welfare, and sprightliness;
688 23| affliction and at ease. That Lord has also charged me to ask:

690 23| resist the Evil One; Has the Lord Prabhûtaratna, the Tathâgata, &
691 23| substances; And as to that, Lord Prabhûtaratna, the Tathâgata, &

694 23| suffer or allow; Is the Lord Prabhûtaratna, &c., to stay

705 23| Mahâsattva Padmasrî said to the Lord: What root of goodness has

737 24| Avalokitesvara.~28. This universal Lord, chief of kings, who is
738 24| joined hands towards the Lord and said: They must be possessed
739 24| not a few good roots, O Lord, who are to hear this chapter
740 24| was being expounded by the Lord, eighty-four thousand living
741 25| DEVOTION.~Thereupon the Lord addressed the entire assemblage
742 25| time, that period the said Lord preached the Dharmaparyâya

746 25| there exists and lives a Lord Galadharagargitaghoshasusvaranakshatrarâgasankusumitâbhigña,
747 25| including the gods. That Lord is our Master, O noble king;
748 25| to the presence of that Lord.~After the two young princes
749 25| life in the face of the Lord. And on that occasion, young
750 25| together with us to the Lord Galadharagargitaghoshasusvaranakshatrarâgasankusumitâbhigña,
751 25| ascetics in presence of the Lord Galadharagargitaghoshasusvaranakshatrarâgasankusumitâbhigña,
752 25| together and unanimously to the Lord Galadharagargitaghoshasusvaranakshatrarâgasankusumitâbhigña,
753 25| arriving at the place where the Lord was, they humbly saluted
754 25| men of good family, the Lord Galadharagargitaghoshasusvaranakshatrarâgasankusumitâbhigña,
755 25| comforted by the sermon of the Lord, was so content, glad, ravished,
756 25| in the preaching of the Lord Galadharagargitaghoshasusvaranakshatrarâgasankusumitâbhigña,
757 25| king Subhavyûha said to the Lord Galadharagargitaghoshasusvaranakshatrarâgasankusumitâbhigña,
758 25| Tathagata, &c.: My two sons, O Lord, are my masters, since it
759 25| established in the command of the Lord, brought to full ripeness
760 25| and exhorted to see the Lord. They have acted as true
761 25| as true friends to me, O Lord, those two young princes
762 25| goodness.~At these words the Lord Galadharagargitaghoshasusvaranakshatrarâgasankusumitâbhigña,

766 25| Tathâgata, &c.: Please, Lord, deign to tell me, what
767 25| head is shining; that the Lord's eyes are so clear; that
768 25| is glittering; that the Lord has lips red as the Bimba
769 25| family, had celebrated the Lord Galadharagargitaghoshasusvaranakshatrarâgasankusumitâbhigña,
770 25| besides, he said to the Lord Galadharagargitaghoshasusvaranakshatrarâgasankusumitâbhigña,
771 25| c.: It is wonderful, O Lord, how valuable the Tathâgata'
772 25| are. From henceforward, O Lord, we will no more be slaves
773 25| so many good qualities, O Lord, I do not wish to go away
774 25| from the presence of the Lord.~After humbly saluting the
775 25| saluting the feet of the Lord Galadharagargitaghoshasusvaranakshatrarâgasankusumitâbhigña,
776 25| thousand (gold pieces) upon the Lord; and that pearl necklace

782 26| approaching he humbly saluted the Lord's feet, made seven circumambulations
783 26| to right, and said to the Lord: I have come hither, O Lord,
784 26| Lord: I have come hither, O Lord, from the field of the Lord
785 26| Lord, from the field of the Lord Ratnategobhyudgata, the
786 26| Tathâgata, &c., as I am aware, Lord, that here in the Saha-world
787 26| which from the mouth of the Lord Sâkyamuni I have come accompanied
788 26| Bodhisattvas Mahâsattvas. May the Lord deign to expound, in extension,
789 26| Mahâsattvas. So addressed, the Lord said to the Bodhisattva
790 26| Bodhisattvas exclaimed: Indeed Lord; indeed, Sugata. Then in
791 26| assembled at the gathering, the Lord again spoke to the Bodhisattva
792 26| Samantabhadra said to the Lord: At the end of time, at
793 26| Incessantly and constantly, O Lord, will I protect such a preacher.
794 26| shall take a walk, then, O Lord, will I mount a white elephant
795 26| skill in all sounds.~Again, Lord, the monks, nuns, male or
796 26| poison. I will, besides, O Lord, give those preachers words
797 26| these talismanic words, Lord, shall be aware that the
798 26| their ruling power.~Further, Lord, the Bodhisattvas Mahâsattvas
799 26| Gambudvîpa, those preachers, Lord, should take this view:
800 26| write and keep this Sûtra, O Lord, are to partake of the course
801 26| roots under many Buddhas, O Lord, and whose heads are caressed
802 26| write and keep this Sûtra, O Lord, will afford me pleasure.
803 26| shall write this Sûtra, O Lord, and comprehend it, shall,
804 26| the True Law. I myself, O Lord, will superintend this Dharmaparyâya,
805 26| in Gambudvîpa.~Then the Lord Sâkyamuni, the Tathâgata, &
806 26| of the True Law from the Lord Sâkyamuni; that they have
807 26| they will have decked the Lord Sâkyamuni with their robes.
808 27| DHARMAPARYÂYA].~Thereupon the Lord Sâkyamuni, the Tathâgata, &
809 27| second time, a third time the Lord spoke to the host of Bodhisattvas
810 27| Tathâgatas.~So addressed by the Lord Sâkyamuni, the Tathâgata, &
811 27| bowed their body towards the Lord, and, the head inclined
812 27| spoke in one voice to the Lord Sâkyamuni, the Tathâgata, &
813 27| following words: We shall do, O Lord, what the Tathâgata commands;
814 27| all Tathâgatas. Let the Lord be at ease as to this, and
815 27| the same words: Let the Lord be at ease as to this, and
816 27| perfectly quiet. We shall do, O Lord, what the Tathâgata commands
817 27| Tathâgatas.~Thereupon the Lord Sâkyamuni, the Tathâgata, &
818 27| precious substances of the Lord Prabhûtaratna, the Tathâgata, &
819 27| existence.~Thus spoke the Lord. The incalculable, innumerable
