E.N. Evidently the accent will be now to shift to, or the potential should be to shift to the parish?

V.E. It is not important whether it will be the parish or whether it will be some other form of the church community. What is important is that although it is possible to scorn the will of God, it is not in any case impossible for God to force His will meaning it is impossible to interfere with Divine Freedom, which is far above any creature therefore “The Spirit blows wherever it pleases” and now resting on those whom God chooses. Therefore it is absolutely incorrect to speak about how the accent will move to the parish or a different group who believes, or to another different layer. In this relationship, historical examples of the Schism of the Living[Renovation] Church have already begun to teach us. Just as Bishop Antonin (Granovskii) wished to move the center of gravity to the faithful laity said, “I dont need any priests, I need only people.” Numerous groups of Renovationists rushed to move the center of gravity to the “white” [parish] clergy and to crown them with archdiocese mitres, but evidently this was not given to them in life. On the other hand, the Karlovatskii hierarchy, especially Hrapovitskii[the main Metropolitan of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad] implemented despotism, and generally attempted to isolate themselves. In any case, this question does not need to be raised. The Lord elects those from His servants, who for the present state of the church community, are called by Him and entrusted with blessed activities and work by God.
