E.N. And how in your life is this audacity revealed?

V.E. I remember, when my work was in Kiev, Pavel Protsenko, who subsequently became my helper, came to me and asked how was it till this time they [the government] did not force me to stop? I said: “Well, the Lord maintains.” “Yes,” he said, “ so then the Lord maintains.” As a result of him himself being a witness to those agents of such an origin, more often than not he did not remain in freedom. But that was then. Now we with our own eyes see the heaven pressing against the earth: many agents who earlier would have freely developed their own activities somehow disappeared from the church horizon. It is something else that they in division proved to be without dignity. This is the Great Grace of God. If we are all internally afraid to apply our own understandings but we are searching for understanding from the Lord, then the Lord will not leave His Faithful without understanding. Moreover, He will not become tired of leading them. He said: “But I am the Path, the Truth, and the Life”. One path which He leads little by little. And so it happens that we ourselves do not know what sort of path it will be and how it will set out. The disciples of Christ also did not know what the next day would bring and where their Teacher would go: would it be to the mountain, the Favor, or already to the Crucifixion. We are now surprisingly surviving; indeed, this is a beneficial time when the revival of life in Christ is occurring.
