E.N. What in your view is service: is it some timely condition of toil for the Lord or is it a way of life?

V.E. It is, of course, a way of life, because in a body if one member becomes sick and suffers, then the other members suffer together with it. Beginning already with service from the second century of the birth of Christ, is the general call to a life in Christ. It is in the New Heaven and in the New Earth where we will simply, like precious stones, reflect the Light of Christ in ourselves. In our time, it happens that there are alterations of the character of the service, and the service itself has our form (appearance) of life in Christ, until the Lord summons us. But we all wish to make it to Kingdom of Heaven, and thus we should greatly fulfill His will and His providence.
