E.N. You spoke about how the church struggle should not take up a big space, but such a dialogue of an internal Orthodox circle is not happening. People are not striving for dialogue and this will result in a battle but not a spiritual one.

V.E. Scandal happens of course. That is not the point. Here you are not making do with dialogue. Sometimes it is helpful to be quiet. Another thing, may there not to be any tone or spirit of a newspaper-journal dispute, and may the clergy and the church community not to acquire this spirit. This is very important. It is necessary to keep in mind that the newspapers and journals are nonetheless “cheap word”. A newspaper always lives with scandals and sensations. A journal is, like Pushkin said, “for journalistic struggles”, that is it also all goes to the level of journalistic disputes. For church relations, unity, there exists a form of discourse. And if there is no conversation, if there is no meeting, if there is not an atmosphere of internal warmth of the heart, then indeed, it is better to be silent. Therefore it happens that here it is simply useful to have prayer for a peace treaty.
