 1    1, Prol|      of the flute is fire, not mere air.~Let him who lacks this
 2    1, 5   |    skies!"~"How long regard ye mere form, O form-worshippers?~
 3    1, 5   |        that is lacking to that mere semblance of man.~Go! seek
 4    1, 6   |     say not that outside 'twas mere blood,~Which on entering
 5    1, 6   |      outside the alembic 'twas mere copper,~And becomes gold

32    4, 2   |    bewilderment;~Cleverness is mere opinion, bewilderment intuition.~
33    4, 4   |      form is vanished, he is a mere mirror; ~Nothing is seen
34    4, 6   |       Pharaoh, the exponent of mere opinion or illusion. It
35    4, 6   |      We are not destructive by mere fortuitous chance." ~Thus
36    4, 6   |      the cloud? ~Are you not a mere mote floating in the sunbeams? ~
37    4, 6   |      the sun is transitory? ~A mere worm buried in a dung-heap,~
38    4, 8   |      illusions these tales are mere good tidings,~But men of
39    4, 8   |     fainted with joy. What was mere good tidings to the men
40    4, 9   |  having only partial reason or mere opinion of their own ought
41    4, 9   |       world is illusive,~It is mere sport compared to the retaliation
42    4, 9   |    hills?~Before thee they are mere playthings."~The Mount replied, "

53    5, 10  |   while thy soul is drunk with mere date wine,~Thy spirit hath
54    5, 10  |        water;~But its faith is mere imitation of other fowl,~

58    5, 13  |       gone!~Strive, then, from mere hearing to press on to seeing; 7~

61    5, 13  |      to the unbeliever it is a mere fanciful idea.~The only

67    6, 5   |     Ocean, not to us!"~How can mere foam move unless moved by
68    6, 7   |  seeing the fire directly,~Not mere talk, inferring the fire
69    6, 8   |    sight, causing him to see a mere human benefactor, where
70    6, 8   |     eyes and heart look beyond mere water and clay,~God alone
71    6, 9   |   reality of my love,~Quit the mere husk and form of the wheat.~
72    6, 9   |      is yourself, but not your mere bodily self,~Your real self
73    6, 9   |     shell?~Esteem not yourself mere sugar-cane, but real sugar.~
74    6, 9   |       Eye discerns jewels from mere pebbles."~The princes ascertained
