1 1, 11| Hunted with the Wolf and the Fox.~A lion took a wolf and
2 1, 11| A lion took a wolf and a fox with him on a hunting excursion,
3 1, 11| himself, and the hare to the fox. The lion was enraged with
4 1, 11| paw. Then, turning to the fox, he ordered him to make
5 1, 11| to make the division. The fox, rendered wary by the fate
6 1, 11| saying, "Thou art no longer a fox, but myself."~Till man destroys "
7 5, 10| STORY X. The Lion, the Fox, and the Ass.~As an instance
8 5, 10| this strait he called a fox who was wont to attend upon
9 5, 10| his lips. He called this fox, and bade him go and entice
10 5, 10| and make a meal of it. The fox went and searched the neighborhood,
11 5, 10| little or no grass. The fox, after making due salutations,
12 5, 10| returned to its master. The fox replied that the ass was
13 5, 10| weakness of man's faith. The fox replied that this exalted
14 5, 10| The ass rejoined that the fox was perverting the Scripture,
15 5, 10| in spite of himself. The fox again pressed the ass to
16 5, 10| pleasant grazing-ground the fox told him of, and the objections
17 5, 10| Finally the ass yielded to the fox's enticement, and accompanied
18 5, 10| a slight wound. Then the fox blamed the lion for his
19 5, 10| he could, persuaded the fox to try to allure the ass
20 5, 10| time into his lair. The fox consented to try, observing
21 5, 10| and swine by 'Isa. 4 The fox was received by the ass
22 5, 10| and again followed the fox to the lion's lair, where
23 5, 10| repeated verities to the fox,~He spoke them idly and
24 5, 10| off worldly illusions.~The fox said, "In my pure wine there
25 5, 10| his thirst, telling the fox to watch the dead body till
26 5, 10| lion's back was turned the fox ate up the heart and liver,
27 5, 10| and inquired for them, the fox assured him that the ass
