 1    1, 9 |  night like to a veil!~If his thorn puts not forth a single
 2    1, 9 | brings rejoicing.~The useless thorn desires the autumn,~That
 3    1, 9 |     the rose's beauty and the thorn's shame,~That men may not
 4    1, 10|    any wise;~For he makes the thorn a bed of roses,~And gives
 5    1, 17|    nothing.~Like as the green thorn which is cropped by the
 6    1, 17|     the camel crops that same thorn in the desert,~It wounds
 7    1, 17|  substance," it is as a green thorn;~When 'tis "form," 'tis
 8    1, 17|     tis as the dry and coarse thorn.~And thou eatest it in the
 9    3, 14|   gather beauty even from the thorn of disgrace."~Whatsoever
10    4, 4 |      himself, ~And thrust the thorn into his own eyes."~Ah!
11    5, 7 |      to the fiery prison,~For thorn can in no wise escape the
12    6, 5 |    extracts the rose from the thorn~Can also turn this winter
