 1   1, 1 |       honest duty proud,~To the Gods and to the Fathers, to each
 2   1, 2 |         not bend it, noble sage~Gods before the bow of RUDRA
 3   1, 6 |  scented garlands grateful unto gods and men,~And he set the
 4   1, 6 |        bedew his ancient bosom, gods and men his wishes share,~
 5   1, 6 |      thy duty, loved of men and Gods above,~Take my dear devoted
 6   1, 7 |         the household, bowed to Gods of holy might,~Bowed to
 7   1, 7 |    pious duty,--favoured by the Gods above,--~Tended still his
 8   1, 7 | righteous Rama for his faith in gods above,~People in the town
 9   2, 2 |       eve for Rama pray,~To the Gods and bright Immortals we
10   2, 4 |        reign is over, shall not Gods my Bharat speed,~And by
11   2, 5 |    royal oath,~Three and thirty Gods be witness, watchers of
12   2, 5 |        of the forest, Household Gods that guard us both,~Mortal
13   2, 5 |         prayer, Spirits and the Gods have heard!~Call to mind,
14   3, 1 |      thy Rama is away,~Faith in Gods and faith in virtue on thy
15   3, 1 |         watch of morning to the Gods for blessings pray,~To my
16   3, 3 |      forces, blest by righteous Gods above,~Thou shalt see thy
17   3, 7 |     tree its magic felt,~As the Gods in BRAHMA'S mansions, exiles
18   4, 2 |     holy rite and homage to the Gods and Fathers done,~Is the
19   4, 4 |    barren life is spent,~Who to Gods and to the Fathers vainly
20   4, 4 |    should seek the sinful path,~Gods who judge our secret motives
21   4, 4 |        s righteous sway,~Mighty Gods and holy sages find in Truth
22   4, 4 |     relinquished throne to win,~Gods nor Fathers nor the Vedas
23   4, 4 |        the forest fare,~Worship Gods who watch our actions, and
24   4, 5 |      palter, help him righteous Gods in heaven!"~Blazing like
25   4, 6 |       wife of Atri, votaress of Gods above,~Welcomed Sita in
26   4, 6 |   tender Rama, righteous as the Gods above,~And thy wifely deep
27   5, 3 |       Sacrificing to the Bright Gods sacred hymns and mantras
28   5, 3 |         s cottage as the Bright Gods dwell above!~
29   5, 4 |   Fathers long departed, to the Gods of holy might,~With the
30   5, 4 |       brother, if it please the Gods above!"~Waked by love, a
31   5, 4 |      stream,~And they prayed to Gods and Fathers with each rite
32   6, 6 |   valour quells the wide-world, Gods above and men below,~He
33   7, 6 |      the white Kailasa, home of Gods, serene and still!~Pass
34   7, 6 |         the wide earth, home of Gods and Spirits blest!"~
35   8, 3 |      cruel Rakshas slay,~Mighty Gods and strong Asuras shall
36   9, 2 |        Ravan, quails thy bosom, gods against thee strive in vain,~
37   9, 8 |        earth with groan,~Mighty Gods and dauntless Daityas fame
38  10, 3 |       the Raksha's mighty onset gods nor mortals might sustain,~
39  10, 3 |         last his Sakti, gift of Gods in days of yore,~Javelin
40  10, 4 |         might,~Men on earth nor Gods immortal conquered Rama

42  10, 6 |         in faith and duty true,~Gods assist the cause of virtue!"--
