 1   1, 1|       righteous Rama bore,~Queen Kaikeyi young and beauteous bore
 2   1, 5|      happiness and wealth.~Queen Kaikeyi is my sister, and to see
 3   1, 7|       blessed with virtue, Queen Kaikeyi in her pride,~Queen Sumitra
 4   1, 7|   Yudajit of warlike fame,~Queen Kaikeyi's honoured brother, from
 5   2, 4|       queen,~With a mother's joy Kaikeyi gaily watched the festive
 6   2, 4|          Take thy presents back, Kaikeyi, for they ill befit the
 7   2, 4|      life,~How can hapless Queen Kaikeyi greet this deed of darkness
 8   2, 4|        regal pomp and state,~And Kaikeyi like a bond-slave must upon
 9   2, 4|      mother's love for Rama thus Kaikeyi answered brief:~"What inspires
10   2, 4|    virtues plead,~Must the Queen Kaikeyi witness Queen Kausalya's
11   2, 4|       Haste thee, heedless Queen Kaikeyi, save the younger and thy
12   2, 4|       Rama's mother venge her in Kaikeyi's woe,~Mark my word, my

14   2, 4|      mother's fears,~Deep within Kaikeyi's bosom worked a woman's
15   2, 5|    regions of the blest,~Through Kaikeyi's inner closet lighted with
16   2, 5|         with eager longing,--but Kaikeyi was not seen!~Thoughts of
17   2, 5|     asked the faithful warder of Kaikeyi loved and lost,~She who
18   2, 5| tumultuous passion was the Queen Kaikeyi found,~On the cold uncovered
19   2, 5|       and all my courtiers Queen Kaikeyi's hest obey,~For thy might
20   2, 5|         All shall serve my Queen Kaikeyi and their treasures all
21   2, 5|         fatal purpose, inly then Kaikeyi smiled,~And by sacred oath
22   2, 5|     woman's loving tendance poor Kaikeyi cured thy wound,~Till from
23   2, 5|         fulfilment,-now let poor Kaikeyi speak,~And if royal deeds

26   2, 6|        son!~Have I courted thee, Kaikeyi, throned thee in my heart
27   2, 6|      tooth,~Have I courted thee, Kaikeyi, placed thee on Ayodhya'
28   2, 6|        stay!~Ask for other boon, Kaikeyi, aught my sea-girt empire
29   2, 6|      fields,~Ask for other gift, Kaikeyi, and thy wishes shall be
30   2, 6|           Coldly spake the Queen Kaikeyi: "If thy royal heart repent,~
31   2, 6|       guile?~Ever since the day, Kaikeyi, when a gentle bride you
