1 23| matrimony. For no man's law, no vow, can annul the commandment 2 23| neither can it be done by any vow. Accordingly, Cyprian also 3 27| extol the obligation of a vow as much as they list, yet 4 27| not bring to pass that the vow annuls the commandment of 5 27| superior is excepted in every vow; [that vows are not binding 6 27| obligation or effect of a vow when, at the same time, 7 27| say of the nature of the vow itself, that it ought to 8 27| there who have taken the vow spontaneously and deliberately! 9 27| even compelled, to take the vow. Wherefore it is not fair 10 27| against the nature of a vow to take it without spontaneous 11 27| years; for it forbids a vow to be made before the age 12 27| though the violation of a vow might be censured, yet it 13 27| are void. For a wicked vow, taken against the commandment 14 27| for (as the Canon says) no vow ought to bind men to wickedness.~
