This unlistening man
matures like an ox.
His muscles develop,
his discernment     not.

 



152: Muscles: This is a translation of the Pali mansani, which is usually rendered in this verse as "flesh." However, as the Pali word is in the plural form, "muscles" seems more accurate -- and to the point.
