Chapter

 1 1 |    Lord, just as if it too had existed ever both unborn and unmade,
 2 3 |    that the name of God always existed with Himself and in Himself
 3 3 |    maintain that the substance existed always with its own name,
 4 3 |        a time when neither sin existed with Him, nor the Son; the
 5 3 |        be evident that nothing existed, because it is plain that
 6 4 |     eternity than to have ever existed, and to exist yet for evermore
 7 6 |   along with God; and that God existed alone, but with Matter.
 8 6 | peculiar to God to have always existed, without a beginning, without
 9 23|     pointed to what had always existed unbegotten and unmade. It
10 23|       will have Matter to have existed shapeless and confused,
11 23| pleased. It might, I say, have existed, and yet God might not have
12 28|      all (because as yet there existed nothing but itself and God),
13 32|        if it made things which existed already; since that alone
14 33|       if Matter had previously existed, we must have believed that
