Chapter

 1 II   |      wisdom nor the patience of God? since He Himself warns
 2 II   |       world is foolishness with God. For it is written, I will
 3 III  |     servants and worshippers of God, show, in our spiritual
 4 III  |      this virtue in common with God. From Him patience begins;
 5 III  |        of patience proceed from God as its author. Man ought
 6 III  |      the thing which is dear to God; the good which the Divine
 7 III  |  Majesty loves, it commends. If God is our Lord and Father,
 8 IV   |        great is the patience in God, that, most patiently enduring
 9 IV   |        equality of patience, at God's behest, the seasons minister
10 IV   |        their verdure; and while God is provoked with frequent,
11 IV   |     though late be converted to God, as He Himself warns and
12 IV   |         Return to the Lord your God; for He is merciful, and
13 IV   |        patience and goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
14 IV   |       the righteous judgment of God, who shall render to every
15 IV   |        his works." He says that God's judgment is just, because
16 IV   |         by the long patience of God man may be benefited for
17 V    |     that patience is a thing of God, and that whoever is gentle,
18 V    |         meek, is an imitator of God the Father; when the Lord
19 V    |       said that the children of God would thus become perfect.
20 V    |       birth, if the patience of God our Father dwell in us--
21 V    |         is it to become like to God! what and how great a felicity,
22 VI   | brethren, did Jesus Christ, our God and Lord, teach this in
23 VI   |      earthly things, the Son of God did not scorn to put on
24 VI   |       always rebellious against God, even to the very hour of
25 VII  |         judged; and the Word of God is led silently to the slaughter.
26 X    |         Thus Abraham, believing God, and first of all instituting
27 X    |       but obeys the commands of God with all the patience of
28 XI   |   brethren; let the judgment of God be pondered, which even
29 XIII |      and hope for, according to God's own showing. Moreover,
30 XIV  |   sanctified body and temple of God polluted by adultery, nor
31 XV   |         us always, eternal with God in the kingdom of heaven.
32 XVI  |    heart, where it delights the God of peace to dwell. Finally,
33 XVI  |   Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom ye are sealed unto
34 XVIII|  conflicts, nor the blessing of God withheld from being declared
35 XVIII|  proportion deserved greatly of God by the praise of patience.~
36 XIX  |        was made in the image of God. Hence he was the first

39 XIX  |        of Moses conferring with God, they dared to ask for profane

52 XXIII|       our God, that is, not the God of all, but of the faithfull
53 XXIV |     avenged who is the Avenger. God the Father ordained His
54 XXIV |        lays it down, and says: "God hath exalted Him, and given
55 XXIV |   righteous and those that fear God.~
