12        6, LIV    |      Scripture, properly speaking, virtues and virtuous actions are
13        7, XLIX   |           wise have despised these virtues, and have wallowed in the
14        7, LX     |         him who partakes of it the virtues of patience and gentleness,
15        7, LX     |           makes them grow in these virtues, than that which confines
16        8, I      | righteousness truth, and the other virtues, those who, until they receive
17        8, XVII   |           Word of God, to wit, the virtues in which we imitate "the
18        8, XVII   |            piety, and of the other virtues. In all those, then, who
19        8, XVII   |           wisdom, piety, and other virtues, these excellences are their
20        8, LXV    |           joining with their other virtues that highest of virtues,
21        8, LXV    |            virtues that highest of virtues, patience and fortitude.
