 1 3 |          if God is the author of evils only? For if this is so,
 2 3 |          that there are not only evils in human affairs, but also
 3 3 |          if God is the author of evils, there must be another who
 4 5 |         so he who hates inflicts evils upon those whom he hates;
 5 13|      namely, as a remedy against evils, whereas they complain that
 6 13|        might enjoy, so also have evils, against which it might
 7 13|          of wisdom on account of evils; and unless these things
 8 13|       either wishes to take away evils, and is unable; or He is
 9 13|        from what source then are evils? or why does He not remove
10 13|          therefore, to take away evils; but He does not wish to
11 13|      wisdom than of annoyance in evils. For wisdom causes us even
12 13|       nor did any other, that if evils are taken away, wisdom is
13 13|     overcoming the bitterness of evils. And thus, for the sake
14 13|       gain in the taking away of evils, we should be deprived of
15 13|         the sake of man, as well evils as also goods.~
