 1 3 |    earthly mass with equity. Who says by the prophet, "I am God,
 2 3 |     there is none beside me" Who says by the same prophet "Because
 3 3 |    contained in a temple; and He says these things not for boastfulness
 4 3 |          with cloddish ferocity, says, "And upon whom shall my
 5 3 |        invisible things of Him," says the Apostle Paul," from
 6 4 |      perishing. And therefore He says, "I am God, I change not;"
 7 4 |       always be God. And thus He says, "I am that I am." For what
 8 6 |          human form,--as when it says, "The eyes of the Lord are
 9 6 |       the righteous;" or when it says, "The Lord God smelled the
10 6 |   stretched out arm;" or when it says, "The mouth of the Lord
11 6 |         s footstool;" or when it says, "Incline thine ear, and
12 7 |  APPELLATIONS.~But when the Lord says that God is a Spirit, I
13 8 |            One of two sparrows," says the Lord, "shall not fall
14 8 |         For the chariot of God," says he, "is multiplied ten thousand

26 12|     eloquent." Since the prophet says that at God's advent these
27 12|          deny that He is God. He says by Habakkuk the prophet: "
28 12|          God ? For the Scripture says that God shall come. If
29 12|       boldness of Sabellius, who says that Christ is the Father?
30 13|          the nativity of Christ, says: "The Word was made flesh,
31 13|         nothing made." "Whether" says the apostle "they be thrones
32 13|    Repeating this same thing, He says: "Father, glorify me with
33 13| conditions of Christ's divinity, says in reply to Christ, "My
34 13|        besides, the Apostle Paul says, " Whose are the fathers,
35 15|      only man, how is it that He says, "Though I bear record of
36 15|          flesh?" Behold, also He says, that He shall return thither
37 15|    forbid ! But consider what He says: "I am not of this world."
38 15|       then speak falsely when He says "of this world," if He is
39 15|        made (is God). "And God," says he, "was the Word." Therefore
40 15| immortality cannot arise. "But," says He, "whosoever keepeth my
41 15|  although He is born of Abraham, says that He is before Abraham.
42 15|   Abraham. Either, therefore, He says what is not true, and deceives,
43 15|       man, what is that which He says, "I and the Father are one?"
44 16|        how is it that He Himself says, "And every one that believeth
45 17|          the Word of God? For He says the same that John and the

53 19|       dream; and at this time he says that the angel of God had
54 19|       Jacob, Jacob. And I said,"~says he, "What is it? Lift up
55 19|       Angel himself mentions and says, "I am God, who appeared
56 19|          is in terrible risk who says that Christ is either man
57 19|         His substance. "For," it says, "Jacob remained alone;
58 19|       upon his thigh." A man, it says, wrestled with Jacob. If

73 27|   another. Finally, He adds, and says, "We are," not "I am," so
74 27|       persons. Moreover, that He says one, has reference to the
75 27|         it to be understood, and says, "Say ye of Him, whom the
76 27|          the Father. Besides, He says that He is sent: so that
77 27|     controversy of error: for He says, in the last portion of
78 28|     shall see Him. "For no one," says He, "can come to the Father,
79 28|          to drink, the Scripture says, "In my thirst they gave
80 28|         reasonably subjoins, and says, "If ye loved me, ye would
81 28|        in His love." Further, He says in addition: "But I have
82 28|   granted and given? For that He says, "Blessed are they of a
83 28|           He still promises, and says that he who is of a pure
84 29|      Christ. "In the last days," says the prophet, "I will pour
85 29|       Moreover, the Apostle Paul says, "Having the same Spirit;
86 29|          Of Him the Apostle Paul says: "For he who hath not the
87 29|       guards the Gospel, Of this says the same apostle: "We have
88 29|     Concerning Him he exultingly says: "And I think also that
89 29|        Spirit of God." Of Him he says: "The Spirit of the prophets
90 30|         that there is none. "I," says He, "am God, and there is
