  9 10|               X. ARGUMENT. THAT JESUS CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD AND TRULY
 10 10|               this I remind you, that Christ was not to be expected in
 11 10|            the Old Testament, as to a Christ feigned and coloured up
 12 10|            acknowledge that that is a Christ of the heretics who was--
 13 10|               acknowledge that to the Christ who chose an ethereal or
 14 10|               is established, in that Christ is raised up in the substance
 15 11|             ARGUMENT. AND INDEED THAT CHRIST WAS NOT ONLY MAN, BUT GOD
 16 11|         asserting that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Creator,
 17 11|            they maintain one thing in Christ and, do not maintain another,
 18 11|         another, they see one side of Christ and do not see another,
 19 11|               from the infirmities of Christ is of avail to the result
 20 11|           Scripture as much announces Christ as also God, as it announces
 21 11|               as much described Jesus Christ to be man, as moreover it
 22 11|        moreover it has also described Christ the Lord to be God. Because

 25 12|                   XII. ARGUMENT. THAT CHRIST IS GOD, IS PROVED BY THE
 26 12|               does not save except by Christ. Why, then, should man hesitate

 40 12|          Sabellius is embodied. Since Christ is believed to be not the
 41 12|              manner, by those, again, Christ is proved to be God the
 42 12|           southern portion of heaven, Christ is born, who by the Scriptures
 43 12|               shrink from calling Him Christ and God ? For the Scripture
 44 12|              Sabellius, who says that Christ is the Father? unless because,
 45 12|            are accustomed to say that Christ is merely man; when compelled
 46 13|            describing the nativity of Christ, says: "The Word was made
 47 13|             and dwelt among us," that Christ, whose is the nativity,
 48 13|            concord of the nativity of Christ? For He it is who "as a
 49 13|             the secrets of the heart, Christ beholds the secrets of the
 50 13|               to remit sins, the same Christ remits sins; and if, whereas
 51 13|              and the Father are one," Christ alone declared this word
 52 13|              proofs and conditions of Christ's divinity, says in reply
 53 13|            divinity, says in reply to Christ, "My Lord and my God ;"
 54 13|              the fathers, and of whom Christ came according to the flesh,
 55 13|              nor of man, but by Jesus Christ;" and if the same contends
 56 13|            but received it from Jesus Christ, reasonably Christ is God.

 58 13|               all things were made by Christ, He is either before all
 59 13|              ought to understand that Christ is not man only, who is
 60 14|              shrinks from urging that Christ is God, whom he perceives

 62 14|          could have made no world? If Christ was only man, how is the
 63 14|          ordained after the world? If Christ was only man, how was it
 64 14|             only man, how was it that Christ was not only of the seed
 65 14|            flesh, nor dwelt in us. If Christ was only man, how does He "
 66 14|              cannot be born there? If Christ be only man, how are "visible
 67 14|            have been prior to man? If Christ is only man, how is He present
 68 14|            present in every place? If Christ is only man, why is a man
 69 14|          condemned as ineffectual? If Christ is only man, why is hope
 70 14|           declared to be accursed? If Christ is only man, why may not
 71 14|              is only man, why may not Christ be denied without destruction
 72 14|               man may be forgiven? If Christ is only man, how comes John
 73 14|            was prior to me;" when, if Christ were only man, being born
 74 14|            him, in that He is God? If Christ is only man, how is it that "
 75 14|        heavenly operations of God? If Christ is only man, how is it that "
 76 14|            materials of mortality? If Christ is only man, how does He
 77 14|             established in heaven? If Christ is only man, how does He
 78 14|            hath seen God?" Because if Christ is only man, He could not
 79 14|              that He has seen God. If Christ is only man, why does He
 80 15|           PROVES FROM THE GOSPEL THAT CHRIST IS GOD.~If Christ is only
 81 15|         GOSPEL THAT CHRIST IS GOD.~If Christ is only man, how is it that
 82 15|               He descended. Whence if Christ were only man, He would
 83 15|              that the carnal birth of Christ was the only one, believed
 84 15|               only one, believed that Christ was nothing else than man;
 85 15|             could not come thence. If Christ is only man, how does He
 86 15|             man is of this world, and Christ is for that reason in this
 87 15|               of this word: wherefore Christ is not God only, but man
 88 15|              But on that account this Christ here laid more stress on
