 1 III   |        of the ancients somewhere said, "Unless both rulers and
 2 VIII  |           and not only, as Plato said, for a period of a thousand
 3 IX    |          dissolute men should be said to fashion and make gods
 4 XII   |       princes. But, as we before said, we are persuaded that these
 5 XV    |         do nothing for glory, He said, "Give to him that asketh,
 6 XVI   |      from anger, this is what He said: "To him that smiteth thee
 7 XVI   |      certain man came to Him and said, "Good Master," He answered
 8 XVI   |         Master," He answered and said, "There is none good but
 9 XVII  |         the coin bear?" And they said, "Caesar's." And again He
10 XVII  |         Christ intimated when He said, "To whom God has given
11 XIX   |         see? For let this now be said hypothetically: if you yourselves
12 XIX   |          our Master Jesus Christ said, that "what is impossible
13 XX    |          the Sibyl and Hystaspes said that there should be a dissolution
14 XX    |      very things which have been said by the comic poet Menander,
15 XXI   |         know. This only shall be said, that they are written for
16 XXI   |         like actions. But, as we said above, wicked devils perpetrated
17 XXII  |         generation, let this, as said above, be no extraordinary
18 XXII  |        very similar to the deeds said to have been done by AEsculapius. ~
19 XXIII |          things as these writers said, but because we say true
20 XXVI  |          forward certain men who said that they themselves were

81 LXIII |        death. And that which was said out of the bush to Moses, "
