 1    I, 6 |        the adopting of what is better. For what ignorance has
 2    I, 6 |       call the reminiscence of better things the filtration of
 3    I, 6 |        reminiscence of what is better. There follows of necessity,
 4    I, 6 |        recollection of what is better, repentance for what is
 5    I, 6 |    life, and strives after the better life, not as perfect in
 6    I, 8 |    does good must be every way better than that which does not
 7    I, 8 |       not good. But nothing is better than the Good. The Good,
 8    I, 8 |        does good purposely, is better than what does not good
 9    I, 8 |      purposely. But nothing is better than God. And to do good
10    I, 8 |        and again, that you may better conceive of God, "even the
11    I, 8 |     good, and summons forth to better things those that are called;
12    I, 8 |      exhorts them to turn to a better life. For the one is not
13   II, 1 |   neither if we eat are we the better," it is said, "nor if we
14   II, 1 |        their food." And we are better than they, being their lords,
15   II, 1 | Ventriloquist-demon. It is far better to be happy than to have
16   II, 1 |      And herbs, with love, are better than a calf with fraud."
17   II, 2 |     frame ourselves to what is better, dreading lest we also become
18   II, 3 |  consequently cheap things are better than dear. In fine, wealth,

29  III, 6 |     tested gold; for Wisdom is better than precious stones, nor

35  III, 12|       presence. It is moreover better that, beginning at home
