 4 2 |        to revive the memory of St. Francis. Nor is the field
 5 4 |     honours in preparation for St. Francis will be especially
 6 5 |   testimony of Our devotion to St. Francis, but that they
 7 7 |      the few subsequent years; St. Francis was the agent in
 8 9 |       In this century appeared St. Francis. Yet with wondrous
 9 10|       was the grace granted to St. Francis, whom God was guiding
10 12|        penetrated the heart of St. Francis, and urged him
11 15|    Christ, it so happened that St. Francis was born in a stable;
12 16|     hundreds of years. One day St. Francis was absorbed in
13 16|       virtue emanated: at once St. Francis feels his hands
14 17|    super-human voice that bade St. Francis, when near the
15 17|        when near the church of St. Damian, "Go thou and uphold
16 17|  wherein it seemed to him that St. Francis was supporting
17 17|   evident; they signified that St. Francis was to be in those
18 19|       the multitude flocked to St. Francis. Wherever he went
19 21|      issued from the family of St. Dominic and from the other
20 21|      Louis IX., of France, and St. Elizabeth of Hungary, sought
21 21|      it is in great measure to St. Francis that Europe owes
22 22|   himself, or at the Church of St. Mary of the Angels, the
23 23|     found in the institutes of St. Francis, if only they are
24 25|        power, aim at imitating St. Francis of Assisi; therefore,
25 25|        upon the Third Order of St. Francis, so now, being
26 25|    themselves into the arms of St. Francis himself with a
27 26|   demand a greater devotion to St. Francis, and also a greater
