 3 1|      thoroughly that the original teachings seem in some cases to have
 4 1|          inspired by the Buddha's teachings, but who prefer to adapt
 5 1|         who prefer to adapt those teachings to their own ends rather
 6 1|        adapting themselves to the teachings, have engaged in creating
 7 2|       some extent by the Buddhist teachings on hierarchy: that it is
 8 2|        the record of the Buddha's teachings for posterity. During the
 9 2|        closely as they can to the teachings in the texts -- to keep
10 2|     meditation -- their names and teachings slipped through the cracks
11 2| faithfully, then as word of their teachings and practices spread, they
