II. A COMMON CONCERN: THE SPIRITUALITY OF COMMUNION

The Synods have embarked upon a renewal in the Church, not so much from the institutional perspective, nor from the strictly theological perspective, but from that of spirituality. The ecclesiology of communion – present in all the Synods’ reflections on the various forms of Christian life – are ultimately translated in a spirituality of all the forms of life in “mutua relatio.” Hence it seems necessary to reflect on the spirituality of the Bishop, the principal inspirer and the one most responsible for giving dynamism to the mutual relations.
