2. From the Roman Union of Superiors General to the Union of Superiors General (USG)

In 1964, whilst the Council was in the midst of its sessions, and with the new Constitution, FrAnastasio Ballestrero, General OCD was elected President, and Fr. Aniceto Fernandez, Master General OP, Vice-President. Father Armando le Bourgeois, Eudist, continued as Secretary and FrAndrea Guay, Procurator General of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, as Assistant Secretary.

In 1967, the Union’s name was changed by removing the adjective "Roman". From that time on it was, and still is, called the USG.
