CONCLUSION

My intention in this overview of the USG’s almost 50-year existence has been to bring back memories in order to help us be aware of what we are, to renew ourselves and to provide a better service to the consecrated life; and through the consecrated life, to the Church and to the world.

It is important for us to regain the USG’s original dynamism in order, in creative fidelity, to make it an efficient instrument of motivation, promotion and life in a Church of communion. The USG of the coming years will be what we have decided and done. This Assembly is a unique opportunity to identify the ways of the Lord for our Union.

Of course we feel tiny when faced with the great challenges of our time, but we know very well that we can count on the presence and help of the Spirit. With active hope, we place our trust in Him, in the certain knowledge that this hope will not disappoint us (cfRom. 5, 3-6).

President of the USG
