Discernment, study and awareness of the importance of spirituality as a unifying element of the Consecrated Life, of "refoundation", taking into account different cultures and the paths they have followed; which in turn led to the subject of vocations in the old world, lay participation in the charism within our Institutes, modernization of the USG itself…

Many things deserve to be taken up again and carried forward with hope and courage:

·         The possibility of resuming the Council's periodic meetings with the Pope;

·         More contact with the National and International Conferences of Religious

·         Our timely intervention as a union in special situations such as Kosovo, Zaire, Timor. In such cases the USG is represented through its J & P Commission, but at times its influence could be greater

·         The search for a prophetic way for various congregations to co-operate in sharing apostolic activities, …
