3. Service and services
We believe our service to be precise and up-to-the-minute,
supported by a deep love of the Consecrated Life and the desire to serve it,
even at no little cost to ourselves, given the very small number of people who
work in the Secretariat. The COUNCILS: have truly done their utmost, showing
commitment and competence surpassing all the various difficulties
The various
commissions: each
one has tried to carry out its service to the full. Even if their members are
few, they have performed an important function and should be supported. Please
note that Commission VI has been suspended because its tasks have been
practically absorbed by other CEP initiatives.
Continuing technical improvements have permitted better presentation of
documents and information within the USG, as well as quicker communication
times.
Great attention has been paid to circulating USG texts, especially publication
of the Conference Proceedings of the Assemblies. The latter are much appreciated
and are becoming a means of broadcasting a number of aspects important to the
growth of the Consecrated Life.
We constantly receive requests from every continent for permission to publish
the matters we have dealt with.
Publication of the Index Personarum has been improved and
enlarged.
