5. An appeal for efficiency and co-operation
The Secretariat has made the following appeals on a number of occasions; we
repeat them here with a view to improving mutual co-operation and the service
we provide.
1.
Correspondence with the USG Secretariat
increasingly takes the rapid form of faxes and this requires that the Curias'
fax machines should be available at all times, without the need for a prior
telephone call.
2.
Communication
via e-mail is
becoming more common every day amongst USG members. The Secretariat has e-mail
and we ask you to ensure that every e-mail sent to the USG is dispatched at one
and the same time to the two following addresses:
usgsegretario@pcn.net and usgsegretaria@pcn.net
if an immediate reply is required.
So as to avoid errors in publication, it is important that we are advised at
once of changes to the INDEX PERSONARUM. We prefer to receive these amendments
by FAX.
3.
Correspondence
from the Secretariat to the Superiors General should be forwarded immediately
to the addressee. If the Superior is away, a Council member or the secretary
should be responsible for reading or dealing with the request or other
communication. In fact, some curias are very efficient in this respect; others
leave somewhat to be desired.
4.
Circulars
from the Superior General which deal with interesting and current themes for
reflection or study should be sent to the Secretariat, in the various
languages, and may be used for consultation purposes to the benefit of members
of the Union.
5.
The
Conference Papers of our Assemblies are sent to the Superiors General in the
language they have indicated to us. Extra copies can be acquired on request
from the USG or the editor until stocks of that particular item are exhausted.
A discount may thus be obtained.
6.
Each
Superior General should inform his Treasurer at once of the annual subscription
to the USG, so that payment is ensured within the first three months of the
following calendar year.
