In the Apostolic Exhortation after the Synod Vita Consecrata John Paul II exhorted the Institutes to "act with courage, in reproducing the boldness, the creativity, and the holiness of their founders as an answer to the signs of the times which we see in the world of today." And he added: "This invitation is above all a call to persevere in the road to sanctity through all the material and spiritual difficulties which beset our daily life. However, it is also a call to seek for competence in one’s own work, and to cultivate a dynamic fidelity to one’s own mission, adapting the forms of it wherever necessary to new situations and differing needs, in full docility to divine inspiration and discernment with the Church." (VC 37)
And with Him, all those in the consecrated life implore the Blessed Virgin Mother to obtain from "her Divine Son that all those who have received the gift of following the consecrated life, will know how to bear witness to it by the transforming of their lives, by the joy with which they journey in the company of their brothers and sisters towards our heavenly home and the light which never fails." (VC 112c)
