2. Growing Tendency and Insistence on Recognizing Individual Cultures

One can also note, over the past decades a Growing Tendency on the part of rather small nations that have come into existence as a result of the break-up of larger groupings, (for example the former Russia and Yugoslavia and many countries in Africa) to have their original cultures recognized and given every opportunity to develop because of the intrinsic values of these cultures. This often enough gives rise to conflicts between these new small nations and even within them as a result of different ethnic compositions, and makes nation building within their borders difficult, if not impossible.
