1.3. Consequences for the Charisma
As pioneers we were bound to be polyvalent men, jacks-of-all-trades. This contributed to the leveling of our own charisms (in the mission field there was apparently not so much difference between a Scheutist Father and an Oblate or a Redemptorist Father). It also created the mentality that everything fits in the charisma, provided the needs of the mission could justify it. And indeed, since there was no local church the mission of those days was really in a situation of first evangelization.
