2. FROM PROBLEMS TO PROSPECTS
There are certain very real tensions within the missionary Institutes and between the Institutes and the local Churches and these are part of the living change. It must be acknowledged, however, that the life of the local Churches and of the Institutes is, in the main, very positive and hopeful for the future. In mission countries consecrated life is increasing in numbers and in quality. It promises to have a positive influence on the life of the Institutes and on that of the local and the universal Church. There are, of course, challenges to be met and problems to be solved. If the outcome is to be positive and fruitful I believe that there are five challenges which must be met with five basic attitudes.
