2.1 Recognize the changes and discern what is coming from the Spirit

Many of the problems arise from the fact that the changes of recent years have not been fully accepted. We must adapt to a changing world and meet the new challenges with discernment but without excluding any of them. This is the real world which the Lord loves and into which he is sending us to fulfill his mission. The missionary encyclical provides an example; it devotes the fourth chapter to the mission which is changing. It is with the changing situations as a starting point that the new challenges can be met and new horizons opened up.
