 2   1,  1     |        proclaimed Saints Cyril and Methodius Co-Patrons of Europe. In

 4   1,  3     |         the Brothers - not only of Methodius, who, according to tradition,

10   2,  4     |          once again, together with Methodius, he was included in a Byzantine
11   2,  4(6)  |             16-18: Constantinus et Methodius Thessalonicenses, Fontes,
12   2,  5     |       chosen were Saints Cyril and Methodius, who readily accepted, set
13   2,  5     |         and persecution, which for Methodius included even a period of
14   2,  5     |           a most favorable manner. Methodius however had to carry out
15   2,  6     |                           6. Saint Methodius remained faithful to the
16   2,  6     |           See of Sirmium. However, Methodius' apostolic activity was
17   2,  6     |           hostility to the work of Methodius. He opposed the Slavonic
18   2,  6     |         orthodoxy. In the year 880 Methodius was called ad limina Apostolorum,
19   2,  6     |     Hadrian II.~When in 881 or 882 Methodius went to Constantinople,
20   2,  7     |        intrepid magnanimity gained Methodius the recognition and trust
21   2,  7     |          truth, after the death of Methodius the work of the holy Brothers
22   3,  8     |             the brothers Cyril and Methodius succeeded in becoming apostles
23   3,  8     |           addressed three times to Methodius by the Roman Pontiff, when
24   3,  9     |            9. The Slavonic Life of Methodius reports in the following
