Pontifical Council "Cor
unum"
Art. 145 — The Pontifical Council "Cor unum" shows the
solicitude of the Catholic Church for the needy, to foster human fraternity and
make manifest Christ’s charity.
Art. 146 — It is the function of the Council:
1. to stimulate the Christian faithful as participants in the mission
of the Church, to give witness to evangelical charity and to support them in
this concern;
2. to foster and coordinate the initiatives of Catholic organizations that
labour to help peoples in need, especially those who go to the rescue in the
more urgent crises and disasters, and to facilitate their relations with public
international organizations operating in the same field of assistance and good
works;
3. to give serious attention and promote plans and undertakings for
joint action and neighbourly help serving human progress.
Art. 147 — The president of this Council is the same as the president
of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, who sees to it that the activities
of both dicasteries are closely coordinated.
Art. 148 — To ensure that the objectives of the Council are more
effectively achieved, among members of the Council are also men and women
representing Catholic charitable organizations.
