 The Brothers and Sisters, in imitation of (their) Seraphic Father, promise obedience and reverence to the Lord Pope and to the Roman Church.  They are also bound to obey their own Superiors canonically instituted, in all things which respect the general and special end of their own Institute (from the Rules of the I and II Orders, ch. I).
