3.         IN CONCLUSION

In face of the complexity and vastness of the topic, many problems and perspectives are open. We have to put ourselves to searching, through a serious discernment in light of the Spirit, now more aware of the need to redefine and improve formation with a planning effort that requires the widest possible view of the strong dynamics of change that society and culture are going through and which influence deeply identity, persons and institutions, especially educational ones.

I would like to indicate at least two possible paths that to me seem must be given priority contemporaneously.

*        An individual journey, through the activation of a constant and conscious process of self-formation, in an itinerary of progressive knowledge and acceptance of self and one’s personal history,  of integration of the different dimensions of one’s being (affectivity, sexuality, rationality, aggressiveness, religiosity…) of the many, fragmented experiences lived and especially of the demands, problems and needs proper to each season of life that we traverse, of re-appropriation of one’s cultural  identity.

*        A community journey, in which formation of the person and the community happen contemporaneously in mutual interaction, in the sharing of work, service and personal spiritual richness. The community, place of formation to diversity and reciprocity, is necessary for growth in  a personal, cultural, and vocational identity, but it must engage in certain steps:

-         change of mentality, acceptance and openness to diversity,

-         knowledge of the essential elements of young people and the culture of candidates in formation

-         continual conversion to God present in each person and in each culture,

-         educate and become educated to reciprocity,

-         create an intensely Gospel climate beginning with the experience of the fatherhood of God, in order to reach fraternity and mutual forgiveness.
