3.3.1- The docibilitas of the praying heart

Prayer which “keeps company” is oration that can express every soul-state and every interior yearning, or petition and intercession, of praise and thanksgiving, even of anger and disappointment toward God, as well as of passion and compassion…; it is done in specific times and also extends to every instant and circumstance of the day, embracing all, like a constant murmuring of the spirit or real, true breath of the soul

Docibilitas, we can say, is first of all a praying attitude, because it is precisely in prayer that the human being, placed before highest Truth and Beauty, experiences the attraction that eliminates all fear and enkindles the desire to know of and to knowOration is like an ongoing process of learning by the heart and mind, the senses and the emotions. But it becomes such when it is truly constant, that is, when it becomes like a net that gathers the day and holds it united around knots, which are those appointments ordinarily distributed throughout the day (as far as possible, of course, for those not in control of their time), which render the “sacramentality of timeevident. Thus, oration becomes increasingly less “duty” which occupies some moments, but spirit of prayer which embraces the whole time and pervades the whole person, like a constantly praying stance, which gives meaning and unity to everything, and must be connected and re-connected constantly to the rest of existence, one’s own and others’. When a believer discovers and lives the unifying power of prayer, he can say he has found the center of his life, that which enables him to be immersed in complexity, not only without getting lost, but even telling and indicating to everyone the center or heart of life.
