2. Write out the scriptural quote and the quotation of St. John of Kronstadt given at the beginning of this chapter of the textbook. Christ so loved the Church and gave Himself up for it (Eph 5:25). The Church is one and the same with the Lord — His Body, of His flesh and of His bones. The Church is the living vine, nourished by Him and growing in Him. Never think of the Church apart from the Lord Jesus Christ, from the Father and the Holy Spirit [St. John of Kronstadt].
