Parable on tares.

(Mat. 13:24-30).

“Kingdom of Heaven” — this is the earthly Church, established by the Heavenly Founder and leading people toward Heaven. “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.” But while men slept” — ie. during the night, when things can be done clandestinely, hidden from everyone — indicates the cunningness of the enemy — “his (people’s) enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.” Tares are called weeds that, while they are small, very much resemble wheat. But when they are fully-grown and are distinct in appearance from wheat, pulling them out poses a serious threat to the roots of wheat-stalks. The Teachings of Christ are being sown throughout the world — but so does the devil sow his temptations among the people. In the extensive field of the world, everybody lives together: the worthy sons of the Heavenly Father (wheat), and the sons of the cunning one (tares). The Lord tolerates the latter, leaving them until “harvest time,” ie. until Judgment Day, when the inhabitants — God’s Angels — gather all the “tares” and cast them into an inferno for eternal hellish suffering. The Lord will then direct that the “wheat” be gathered for His granary, ie. into His Heavenly Kingdom, where the righteous will shine like the sun.
