Parable on the treasure hidden in the field.

(Mat. 13:44).

A person discovers a treasure, buried in a field that does not belong to him. In order to secure it, he sells all that he owns, buys the field and becomes the possessor of its treasure. Similarly, to the wise, God’s Kingdom presents itself as a treasure in the sense of inner enlightenment and spiritual gifts. Having secreted a similar treasure, a follower of Christ sacrifices everything and disowns everything in order to posses it.
